Do I have to migrate to S/4HANA before using mobile SAP apps?
No, mobile processes can also be set up on the SAP system you run today. ISEC7 for SAP Solutions connects to SAP ERP, CRM and S/4HANA, including ECC, and you decide on S/4HANA independently of it.
What does the end of mainstream maintenance in 2027 mean for SAP ECC users?
SAP will end mainstream maintenance for the core applications of SAP Business Suite 7, including SAP ERP 6.0 in the last three enhancement packages, at the end of 2027. After that, SAP offers optional extended maintenance until the end of 2030, followed by Customer Specific Maintenance. With ISEC7 for SAP Solutions, you can therefore modernize mobile processes now, without tying them to the timing of your S/4HANA migration.
Can SAP be used offline on a smartphone?
Yes, if the app keeps the required data on the device and syncs with SAP again as soon as a connection is available. The ISEC7 for SAP Solutions apps work online and offline, on iOS, Android and Windows.
Do I need middleware or a cloud platform to connect SAP to mobile devices?
Not necessarily: a mobile app can also be connected directly via web services from the SAP system. With ISEC7 for SAP Solutions, an ISEC7 ABAP add-on provides these web services for the user interface and real-time data; there is no middleware layer and no mandatory cloud.
How do I develop my own mobile SAP processes without app developers?
That works if the mobile user interface is provided from within the SAP system: your SAP team then works in ABAP instead of native app or HTML5 development. With ISEC7 for SAP Solutions, the ABAP add-on supplies the web services for the user interface, and your own team builds customer-specific enhancements in pure ABAP.
