MobileIron receives approval for DISA

This week DISA published the MobileIron Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) to their approved list under “Mobile Device Manager.” This approval allows U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agencies to deploy MobileIron on both Android and iOS devices within certain DoD networks. This approval will make it easier for the DoD to deploy MobileIron to manage and protect their growing population of modern mobile devices.

In mobility, speed is key. As many folks know, the STIG is another tool in the utility belt to help speed up a deployment with a consistent security model. Think of it as the template, or “cookbook” if you will, to get the technology deployed faster within the DoD, while not sacrificing security. I’ve always said that, with mobile, speed is a requirement for success, but we can’t take our eye off of security.

This news comes hot on the heels of MobileIron becoming the first company in the world to receive Common Criteria certification for Mobile Device Management Protection Profile V2 (MDMPP.)

Between STIG and MDMPP, along with MobileIron’s work on the CSFC (Commercial Solutions for Classified Programs), we are demonstrating our commitment to the public sector market and to our national mission to protect and to serve. I couldn’t be prouder of the MobileIron team, including our agency customers and partners.
